NEW IDEAS NEW JOBS 2013 WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
The YFYI Final held on November 9, 2013 was held with the participation of a wide range of people including university students, academics, businessmen, entrepreneurs, professionals, public officials and investors.
The 2013 awards of Yeni Fikirler Yeni İşler, which supports young entrepreneurs in realizing their technology-based projects, were presented by ODTÜ They found their owners at the ceremony held at the Culture and Congress Center.
The ceremony, where 11 projects that qualified for the finals as a result of the meticulous elimination among 1071 business idea applications from young entrepreneurs competed, attracted great interest from the participants.
Following the presentations made by the entrepreneurs, the jury determined the award winners:
Major Awards
The Elginkan Foundation Major Award worth 100 Thousand TL was presented to Prz Biotechnology Team received the award. The project is the production of a cancer diagnostic kit that works on the principle of evaluating a panel of 9 antibodies.
The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries Grand Award (100,000 TL) was received by Lazersan Elektronik team with their project that enables the production of a system that provides high speed and wide band wireless data communication called Free Space Optics technology.
The Turkcell Grand Award, also worth 100,000 TL, The Biomechanics team, which developed a system that will allow doctors (especially heart patients) to upload CT and ultrasonography data of patients to the system and perform hemodynamic analysis on their patients thanks to its simple interfaces, received the award.
Other Awards
Among the special awards worth 25 Thousand TL; the OSTİM Special Award was presented to the Turkish Airlines for its real-time shock and vibration control. The Orion team won the DenizBank Special Award with their projects aiming to establish damping systems that provide air flow, the Easy Guitar team won the Aselsan Special Award with their guitar project supported by LED screen, LCD screen and sensors that will enable users to easily learn guitar, the Functional Surfaces team with the production of coatings that do not retain liquid on the surface, retain liquid and are self-cleaning, and the Çalık YEDAŞ Special Award The winner was the Deeblab team with their project that allows speech impaired people to communicate in public by speaking in sign language through gloves they wear.
Out of the 10 Thousand TL second place awards; the Orion team received the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries Second Place Award and the Lazersan Elektronik team received the Turkcell Second Place Award. In addition to these awards, the Z5 Team team, which was wanted to be awarded separately by OSTİM, won the OSTİM Special Jury Award of 10 Thousand TL with their project that enables blood sugar measurement without taking a blood sample from the skin surface.
The entrepreneurs who won the grand award, ODTÜ They will be able to have office space within Teknokent free of charge for 2 years and will be able to benefit from continuous mentoring support during this period.
